This policy explains how RideCab Technologies Ltd (“RideCab”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our services.
1. Information we collect
- •Account information: When you create a RideCab account, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and profile photo.
- •Location data: We collect your device's GPS location when you use the app to match you with nearby drivers, track your trip, and verify drop-off.
- •Trip data: We record trip details including pickup and drop-off locations, distance, duration, and fare.
- •Payment information: Card details are securely processed by our payment partners (Paystack/Flutterwave). We do not store your full card number.
- •Communications: We store messages sent between riders and drivers through our in-app masked calling and messaging system.
- •Device information: We collect your device model, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and fraud prevention.
2. How we use your information
- •To provide our ride-hailing and delivery services.
- •To match you with drivers and couriers.
- •To process payments and send receipts.
- •To send service notifications, safety alerts, and promotional offers (with your consent).
- •To improve our products and personalise your experience.
- •To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unsafe behaviour.
- •To comply with legal obligations.
3. Information sharing
- •We share your first name and profile photo with your matched driver before a trip — never your full name or phone number.
- •We share trip details with our insurance partners when required for claims processing.
- •We may share data with law enforcement when required by a valid legal order.
- •We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data retention
- •Account data is retained for as long as your account is active and for 5 years after deletion.
- •Trip data is retained for 7 years for legal and financial compliance.
- •You can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting privacy@ridecab.com.
5. Your rights
- •Access: You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- •Correction: You can update your personal information in the app settings.
- •Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
- •Portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- •Objection: You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

6. Security
- •We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest.
- •Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- •We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing.
- •In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by law.
